Minimum viable RFQ
Capture the minimum configuration and delivery facts that keep candidate manufacturer quotations from drifting apart. The brief is a buyer decision tool, not evidence of inventory, approval, fixed price or delivery timing.

Record body type, usable dimensions, construction, axle count, brakes, tires, coupling, jack, suspension and electrical interface.
State total units and option split. Separate sample, tooling, drawing approval, production inspection and spare-component needs.
Give the US state or port, requested window, Incoterm, packing expectations and required document handoff.
Enclosed versus open, steel versus aluminum, lighter tare versus heavier construction, single versus tandem axle, and basic versus finished interior each alter cost, payload or service needs. Ask suppliers to price labeled alternatives while the remaining basis stays unchanged.
For each alternative, request changes in empty weight, payload calculation, axle and brake package, usable dimensions, production timing, inspection scope and freight preparation. Keep drawing and quotation revision identifiers together. Provisional values remain provisional until an exact-build document supports them.
A specification sheet describes the offered build; a rating label or relevant document supports a defined field; an inspection record shows what was reviewed at a stated stage. None of those alone grants import, registration or operating approval. The buyer decides which qualified destination-side review is needed.
A target budget is optional; when used, add currency and per-unit or total-order basis. Supplier preference describes a trade-off request, not an approved rating.
